L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Review

Hair serums might be my biggest obsession… I lost count how many there are, sitting lonely on my bathroom shelf.  I rarely repurchase a hair product, but if I had to pick only one, I’d go for Mythic Oil.

mythic oil

What L’Oreal Professionnel says:

Enriched with a special blend of avocado and grape seed oil, this lightweight oil cares and pampers all hair types. Nourishing even the finest hair, the formula leaves hair looking shiny, feeling nourished and supple.

What I say:

In comparison to every single hair serum or oil I’ve tried so far – from Moroccan Oil to Kerastase Elixir Ultime, this is by far the best at keeping my fine hair soft and frizz-free, without weighing it down. The light fruity scent is a bonus! This just might be the first hair oil I will go back too – if I ever run out of it! I use one pump in the summer and two pumps during winter.

TIP: Apply hair serums/oils on towel dried hair concentrating on  hair ends, or after blow-drying as a finishing touch.

Would I repurchase? Definitely!!!

Have you tried it?

Product overview – 2012’s finest and shabbiest

As much as I love trying out all products, there are always those I can’t resist repurchasing and those a bit more on the ”meh” side, no matter the price or brand.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE:

YSL Touche Eclat

YSL Touche Eclat

A true beauty classic, worth mentioning every year! A few more shades came out recently 🙂

Dior 5 colour eyeshadow (fairy golds)

Dior 5 colour eyeshadow (fairy golds)

One of the best eyeshadows. A tad pricey, however lasts forever!

fiberceutic masque

fiberceutic masque

The only botox you need in your thirties is this one! No hair masque comes close to it. For best results, leave it overnight!

Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil A/O

Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil A/O

I believe this is not so new, but that doesn’t make it any less new to my skin – I have found this while on a shopping spree in Covent Garden in London last Christmas. What a find – worth every penny! This replaces all 745-or-so steps of removing make-up I was used to before – no more cotton pads, make-up removers, waterproof make-up removers, face washes and toners – this replaces them all in just one single step – apply, emulsify with water, rinse. Saves time and space!

THE matte lipstick. Check it out here.

Melvita Extraordinary Rose Water

Melvita Extraordinary Rose Water

The best serum I have tried so far – and such a big bottle it comes out as one of the cheapest too!

Last but not least:

Essence fix & matte

Essence fix & matte

No 1 when it comes to fixing powders. No make-up is complete without it. I’m a bit ashamed to admit I used to buy Chanel‘s and Dior’s fixing powders solely for the sake of the name, even though this one does a much better job. Seriously.

And now THE ”MEH” LIST:

MAC Modelette

It’s  just ok. Nothing more and nothing less (to view the post click here).

One more shampoo that I shall be staying away from. I’ve described it here.

I guess this blush just doesn’t suit me – it might be a completely different story on you…

Although I like walking barefoot – not only in Summer on the beach at sunset with a long dress down to the feet or with simple denim shorts. Although I always do my warming up dancing without socks. It gives me a real sense of freedom and makes me feel the true contact between the body and the surrounding space. Although I truly believe that “less is more”…. I can’t stop collecting socks. There are those I wear when I get back home and it is suddenly relax and vanilla infusion. Those I wear matching with a long knit and biker boots. The black ones – embroidered or lace – suitable for a mini black dress, but especially suitable for shorts or mini leather skirts a little ‘rock and a little ‘cat woman’. But in Winter more than ever I like overlaying several layers with different textures and consistencies. An…

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant – do or don’t?

Purchasing via www.lookfantastic.com  (NOT a sponsored review, just to make it clear!) is a pleasure, for there are always a few samples with the order. Lovely! Recently I got a sample of Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant.

dermalogica

What Dermalogica says:

Our number one exfoliant! Gentle, Rice-based exfoliating powder activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes that micro-exfoliate dead cells, instantly leaving skin smoother and brighter. Formulated without artificial fragrances and colors.

What I say:

– a great exfoliator, made my skin even smoother than usual!

– love the fact it has no small beads or any particles  as those tend to irritate my rosacea-prone skin

– a little goes a long way so a bottle, although expensive (2.6 oz/75 g; 50 $) should last a long time

– great if your skin is not as clear as you would like it to be

– perhaps a tad too drying for everyday use, a good moisturizer afterwards is a must!

Would I (re)purchase? Yes, I believe it’s a good investment. 🙂

Anybody using this? How do you like it?

love, snm
