When it comes to self tanning, the pros rarely outweigh the cons – the smell of most self tanners is downright terrible and the orange hue is a dead giveaway. Add dirty, smelly sheets to the whole unnatural process and you get a rather unpleasant experience. At least that’s what it was for me before discovering St.Tropez line. No wonder celebrities use it! It’s a foolproof, relatively odourless self tan that even someone as clumsy as me could use without major bathroom drama. To be perfectly honest, I don’t care for colour much (no pun intended) but for those rare occasions when I don’t want to glow in the dark this is as good as it gets without actual sun.
What the company says:
Our original, Vitamin E-infused hydrating formula delivers the most intense natural colour in our Self Tan Classic range. Simply smooth on with an Applicator Mitt of Latex gloves to deliver a rich golden, streak-free tan that lasts up to 7 days.
How to apply
Exfoliate with St.Tropez Body Polish before moisturizing dry areas thoroughly with St.Tropez Body Moisturiser (elbows, knees, ankles and feet). Help protect light eyebrows and hairline with a little extra moisturiser. Then, smooth on from toes to top, taking great care not to rub as this can make your tan uneven. Once you’ve got coverage, wait until touch dry before getting dressed. Try not to get wet, or sweat, for at least four hours. Finally, shower off to reveal a perfectly golden, natural looking tan. To maintain, re-apply a couple of times a week, nourish daily with St.Tropez Body Moisturiser and smooth with regular exfoliation for ultimate results.
What I say:
- easy to apply – provided you have at least 4 hours free time on your hands
- works just as described, unlike many products of the sort!
- the most important thing for me – the smell is bearable. Once you shower, it’s almost non-existent.
- the colour is subtle and pretty believable
- the colour fades off evenly, no dirty looking patches
- fair price
Would I repurchase? Absolutely.
Definitely 5/5 🙂
